Pacific Grey Cod
In the past, we used to take our boat out on cod jig trips. Jigging is the most hands-on method of cod fishing. We run 2-4 'jig' poles off the side of our boat.  Each line holds 11 hand baited hooks and has a small motor to reel the fish in. When your jig pole starts bouncing like crazy you know you have caught a full string.
However, due to changes in boat function, crew availability, and protecting our summer trips we have chosen to get our cod and now halibut each December from a trusted Kodiak source!

Pacific Grey Cod is a delicious white fillet fish that is extremely versatile. It can be fried, baked and boiled into amazing fish chowder, rolled into fish tacos and stirred in lime juice to make ceviche. Its delicate texture and mild flavor make it a favorite for both the foodie and the cook.

Black Cod (Sablefish) is a succulent, buttery, white fish with a firmer texture than Halibut or Pacific Cod. It can be cooked in any of the ways mentioned above but can also withstand the grill. Seriously though, think buttery flavor that is highly prized all across the board.

Halibut is considered one of the most desirable and most valuable white fish all around the world. It is especially loved by Alaskans who will beg, barter or steal to get their hands on some fillets. With a naturally buttery, moist flavor, it almost melts in your mouth and is so rich you will feel like a king after eating it! This will likely be the only time this year we will offer it in nearly limitless supply, so get some while you can!
