2026 Salmon season is here!
Early Bird special 8/3-8/9
Sockeye, Coho, and Chinook Salmon
Around the beginning of June we start prepping our gear for salmon season. The big net comes out and our fingers fly as we repair the holes from last season. Seining for salmon requires two boats, the larger fishing vessel and a much smaller craft called a skiff. One end of the net is anchored to the big boat or the beach and the skiff runs the quarter of a mile net out and bends around to create a hook. The hook catches the salmon as they swim towards freshwater and the big boat purses the net at the bottom so that they can't get away. The result is hopefully a big mess of silver bellies flopping around on your deck.
Ordering Details:
Sockeye salmon or "Reds," as the fishermen call them, have more of the healthy omega 3 fats and a fine robust flavor. Coho salmon or 'Silvers" are a leaner fish with less omega 3s, but still a delicious mild taste.
Chinook or King salmon is known for their larger size and buttery decadent texture. Essentially you feel like a king when you eat it! More mild in flavor but more rich than the other two species. Great for a special occasion.
Any species, baked or grilled with your choice of seasoning or a simple mixture of olive oil, salt, and pepper - this wild caught fish is especially divine! A world away from its store-sold brother.

SPECIAL SALMON NOTES:
We offer different salmon species each year as they are available. We almost always have Sockeye but occasionally King and Coho. For the 2026 season, we have all 3 species in generous supply. The one exception is Copper River Sockeye. We were not able to get the Copper River this year. We will try again next year.
Also, remember all paid orders will be timed stamped and fulfilled in the order in which they are paid. If you want to be sure you get your fish, order and pay right away. Due to our unique season, supplies may be limited. If for any reason we cannot fulfill your order, you will receive a prompt and full refund.

If you or another fish lover lives outside of Tucson, we can ship a minimum of 25lbs right to their door in the US for a $75 extra shipping charge. Just add the "Out of state shipping" product to your cart and email me your address! I will be in contact on the exact date we ship to make sure it works for your schedule.
