Welcome to the fishwife blog!

For years I've kept journals on the Lord Willing or as I like to call them 'captain's log' (yes, I grew up watching star trek....Janeway for president!) Keeping an online blog isn't always practical when you are out to sea and many of my entries are super boring involving pictures of Kodiak Island coast lines and fishing boat positions during a set. Snooze. But sharing some of the joys and struggles of this lifestyle might interest some of you and might be good for my soul as well. My plan is to write as the inclinations come. Poems, stories, how life as a fishwife goes....all these to share the love our family has for Alaskan salmon, boat living, and the incredible ocean that ties us all together!
